1. AINSLEY, by Pam Leaver

An interesting collection of trees, shrubs and perennials in a large town garden, all of which meanders down past a large veggie garden and chook run to overlook Mt Macedon and the Campaspe River.

2. GLEN-OLNEY, by Ken and Joy Robbins

An English-style garden on a gentle hillside.  This large town garden has evolved over the years into a picturesque blend of mature trees, ground cover, hellebores and daffodils.

3. HEDGEROW COTTAGE, by Julie and John Mitchell

A gorgeous garden set in the grounds of 1880s “Hedgerow Cottage” built on the site of Kyneton’s first police station and featuring box balls and hedges, scores of different bulbs, clematis, camellias, almost 100 roses, various hydrangeas, magnolias, aquilegias, foxgloves, hellebores, numerous trees including olives, pear, pomegranate, medlar and a giant ash, and many grasses and shrubs, including “before” and “after" photos.

Water hazard, no dogs please.

4. JINDABA, by Joan and Alan Willis

A one acre, organic garden, featuring lawn, mature trees, flowerbeds, a vegetable garden, green house, bird aviaries, chooks and bees (bees choose to live in garden).

Supporting the Fred Hollows Foundation, restoring sight to the blind in poor and needy countries.

5. THE OLD RECTORY, Will Jones

The Old Rectory is Kyneton’s oldest home, commissioned by the Church of England in 1850. The garden was re-landscaped in the mid 1990’s with its current design incorporating some existing features, (including a 150 year old walnut tree and external boundary hedges) and internal hedging and planting.

No wheelchair access.

6. THE PARSONAGE, Michael and Anne Brignell

This now mature garden at the Parsonage (1856) is built around 2 spectacular old trees, a pine and a deodar, in the front garden. It features a circular rose garden, myoporum lawn and a wonderful mixture of informal and formal plantings. Multiple hedges of differing species define spaces within the garden. As you make your way to the rear of the garden you will see spectacular views across the river and towards the old Kyneton Hospital.

8. KYNETON BOTANIC GARDENS, Ann Tomlinson

One of  the finest Botanic Gardens in Victoria's goldfields, located in the curve of the Campaspe River and dating back to 1858. Magnificent specimen trees including 17 National Trust listed, garden beds, lawns and picnic areas. The gardens now include Kyneton Community Park – a newly created, world class play and recreational space within the heart of Kyneton's Botanic Gardens.

10. BRINGALBIT, The Fox Family

16. SKYFALL FARMS, Alison Breach

Stroll through the rambling cottage gardens of this 1860s farmstead. Visit with friendly chooks, sheep and alpacas while you enjoy the gardens packed with a mix of hardy perennials and edible plants. Skyfall Farms focuses on sustainable practice and is developing as an off-grid, permaculture farm. Homemade goods available.

Site has ample parking and can accommodate larger vehicles, however buses and groups by appointment.
