Kyneton’s Festival of One Act Plays held during the annual Daffodil and Arts Festival will celebrate its 60th Birthday with a ‘Be-Dazzled’ theme on from 2nd to 4th September 2016.
It is hoped that the plays entered in the 3 day Festival can reflect the dazzling Diamond anniversary theme and will dazzle audiences at Kyneton’s Bluestone Theatre.
Convenor Ingrid Gäng said that the Festival looks forward to a stunning series of plays.
“We are looking forward to some glittering performances when we celebrate 60 years of the continuous performance of our Festival in its Diamond Jubilee year” she said.
The Kyneton Festival of One Act Plays commenced in 1957 when the Lions Club of Kyneton combined one act plays with music performances and a short while after made it
exclusively a One Act Play Festival.
Kyneton Lions have continued their involvement and the Kyneton Festival of One Act
Plays is now conducted jointly with the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival and the Kyneton Theatre Company.
Awards for this year’s Festival will reflect the 60 year theme, with the major award increased to $600 for the Jubilee.
