Pre-Festival 1861 Navvies Revolt Re-enactment, Crowning of Royals and Bush Dance Sat August 6

Re-enactment of Navvies Revolt Mollison St Velodrome 2pm, March to Mechanics Reserve and 7.30pm Crowning of Daffodil Royals & Bush Dance at The Albion Hotel.

 

Kyneton Antique Fair Sept 2, Sat 3 & Sun 4

Winners of Excellence in Tourism the Antique Fair will have around 30 dealers with collections ranging from artwork and etchings, furniture, jewellery to vintage clothing. Major fundraiser for Friends of the Kyneton Museum. Light lunches and snacks provided by Rotary Club of Kyneton.

 

Kyneton Hospital Aux Cake & Variety Stall Fri Sept 2

At the Lions Kiosk in Mechanics Reserve – A selection of homemade cakes, jams & knitted & crocheted items with raffle.

 

Men’s Breakfast Sat Sept 3 7.30am

Ferret Racing Mechanics Reserve Sat Sept 3, 10.30am

Playful ferrets get down to racing at this ever popular event. Featuring the Kyneton Daffodil & Arts Ferret Racing Challenge Shield.  Vic Ferret Assoc will attend. Entries Eric Scoble 5422 6454.

 

Scarecrow Competition Mechanics Reserve Sat Sept 3 9am

Bring your Scarecrow to the Mechanics Reserve by 9am.  Many Prizes, sponsored by Best & Less and Macedon Ranges Shire.  Have your face painted by Moth or Pass the Parcel’s Ffyona.

Scarecrow entries can be made by bringing scarecrows to the Mechanics Reserve by 9am on the morning.

 Daffodils and Honey Book Author at Aesops Attic 24a High St, Sat Sept 3 11am-12pm & 3pm-4pm

Elizabeth Honey will visit Kyneton to read and sign copies of her picture book ‘That’s Not a Daffodil!’

Elizabeth will show how the idea grew into a book, then with drawings and simple stencils everyone creates a picture telling the story of Tom's bulb. All young children must be accompanied by an older co-stenciller.

 

Shopping Sidewalk Sale with Buskers Sat Sept 3 9am-4pm

Organised by KDBATA - Visit the three main shopping streets for Sidewalk Sale, Buskers perform for cash prizes. Take in town’s daffodil and window displays, and sample great food and coffee. 

 

Croquet Club Open Afternoon and Garage Sale Sat Sept 3, 1-4pm

Come and have a game or watch and see what all the fun is about. 

 

Kyneton Spring Flower Show Sat Sept 3 and Sun 4

Traditional highlight of the Festival, the Annual Show at the Watts Pavilion features the beauty and amazing variety of daffodils.  Displays of cut flowers, floral art, pot plants and children’s section.  Official Opening by Festival King & Queen with presentations 3pm, including Festival home garden winners.

 

The Albion Hotel, 41 Mollison St 150th Birthday ‘Afternoon Session’ Sun Sept 4

A party for past, present and future patrons. From 3pm onwards.  Entertainment all afternoon.

Alpaca Fiesta & Fleece Show Watts Pavilion Kyneton Showgrounds Sat Sept 10, 10am-4pm

Celebrate all things alpaca.  Come face to face with alpacas and take the opportunity to learn about these amazing animals.  Alpaca products, fleece, trade displays and training demonstrations will be on show. Gold coin entry.

Kyneton Daffodil Old Time Ball Sat Sept 10,  8pm

Dance the night away at the Kyneton Town Hall on the second Saturday of the Festival.  Several Sashes and Beau of the Ball awarded.  Delicious Supper and great music. Cost $15 per person.

 

Craft Market & Café Sat Sept 10 & Sun 11, 10am-4pm

The Central Highlands Group of the CWA will again hold their Craft Market at the Masonic Hall in Yaldwyn Street West.  Light lunches and afternoon tea available at a small cost.  Admission free 10 am to 4 pm both days.

 

Annual Daffodil Charity Fun Run Sun Sept 11

Popular Fun Run with many age categories. Great for all walkers, joggers and more serious runners! 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes and novelty prizes for Best Health Themed Costume and Best Fancy Dress. All proceeds to the Kyneton District Health Service – organised Eclipse Family Fitness. Registration from 8am.

 

Festival Grand Parade & Fair Sun Sept 11, 12.30pm

Mollison Street, starting at Showgrounds finishing at the intersection of Simpson Street.  Spectacular costumes, floats, stilt walkers, bands and dancers. Follow the Parade and join the street party in the High Street and Family Fair in the Mechanics precinct. Some rides will commence at 11.45am. Parade winners will be announced at 2.15pm.
