Kyneton Art Competition - 2010

Daffodil Art Prize entries called for Kyneton Festival
Entries are open again for the $500 Kyneton Daffodil Art Prize to be announced at the Grand Opening event on 2nd September and displayed throughout the Festival.
Now in its fourth year the Art Prize has been expanded to include sculpture. In 2009 the prize went to Glenn White of Campbells Creek with his painting ‘Baby Blooms’ featuring then newborn daughter Holly.
Co-incidentally the Festival this year has taken on the theme ‘Kyneton – Blooming with Pride.’
“We were delighted last year with the number of entries and range of styles” Festival Secretary Marg Dearricott said.
“Again the work should contain recognisable daffodils which can be fantasy or abstract and need not be of daffodils only” she said.
It is expected that entries will be an image that relates to the region and can be reproduced for the Festival to be used in its promotions.
Entries for the Art Prize close on Friday August 13.
Please note that photography and computer generated images still cannot be considered but that there is an opportunity for photographers to enter work in the Photography prize again to be exhibited at Gallery 40.
